Throw away 3D glasses! Samsung holographic TV allows you to be "immersive"

Although Tencent's 3D TV technology has existed on the market for several years, most of them have remained in concept or prototype products. Due to technical limitations and low consumer acceptance, there has been no popularization. We do not want to. Every time watching TV with 3D glasses, right?

However, even so, TV makers did not give up seeking new ways to allow consumers to watch a "breakthrough" television viewing experience.

According to a new Samsung patent that Patently Mobile exposed, Samsung will use lasers to project holograms in front of TV screens instead of clumsy 3D glasses. When we talk about holographic technology, we immediately think of scenes in the Star Wars movie, such as the holographic information stored by Ria Princess in R2D2 memory.

Currently, large-log 3D TVs require users to wear 3D glasses to watch 3D TV content.

Samsung’s patents show that they will use a “spatial light modulator” display to let the laser pass through and project a hologram. The eye tracker can seamlessly “feel” the position and distance between the user and the display. The television system can clearly figure out the distance to project the hologram from the display so that the user can obtain the optimal viewing angle.

Of course, Samsung holographic television patents can only show that this company is exploring this technology, and it does not mean that the company will certainly launch such holographic television in the future. However, in terms of 3D viewing experience, Samsung showed us at least a possibility of a more "smooth" viewing path.
