I feel that there are still many things to be done to develop basic scientific research, including government, industry, academia and research. Everyone often sees that doing basic research does not make money, there is no time in the future, and the investment is very large. It is easier to do the application. Many people have also asked companies like Tencent to say that you should do something as a technology company with a relatively large market value. Many people give us suggestions. I have been thinking about it recently. Many people say that you can do more from chips to operating systems, or from artificial intelligence to quantum computing.

In the past, we felt that this industry chain was far away from us. It seemed that the software and services were far from the chip. But in fact, we have done a lot of data centers, including the cloud, we have a certain influence on the needs of many server terminals, even chips, that is, we can force the chip design industry to design for our services and needs. In particular, our application service is massive, and the user scale is particularly large, which is the first time we can think of it.

It would be better if we could also step in and support the development of some chips. But frankly speaking, we may not be good at it, and we may have to use other forces in the industry chain to do this.

On the other hand, some people have suggested that I remember Professor Rao Yi to give me advice. Many universities in the country have great demand for talents in basic subjects. However, because many colleges have limited funds, they say that these companies in the industry, including many Foundations, can these scientists focus on some basic disciplines, attract them to return to China, come to universities, and fund them to do basic research? This idea also gave me a lot of inspiration.

It has also been suggested that we are subject to chips and operating systems. Why is it controlled by the operating system? Because many of its applications are incompatible with the system, for example, on the mobile phone side, Microsoft's operating system share on the mobile phone side has dropped to less than 1%, because many applications do not support it, and its share is not large. Like WeChat, there was a mobile phone version of Windows. Now the share is too small to be developed. The less developed the mobile app is, the more the Windows version is bought. This is a complementary process.

So we as an application developer, including the small programs we do in the application, if it is possible to directly support more services on the domestic chip, once development, can run on the entire domestic chip, including the domestic operating system Being able to run, I think there is a chance to solve many problems with OTT, which is also the industry's expectation for Tencent. This matter is also very forward-looking, difficult, and it is possible to always prepare a spare tire, which can never be used.
