Rohde & Schwarz (hereinafter referred to as R&S) paved the way for the testing of the new 3GPP5G air interface. Now, developers can use the latest FSW 5G new air interface analysis firmware to verify 5G base stations and related components such as power amplifiers.
R&S is the first to release 5G new air interface downlink analysis firmware. This firmware option is used in the R&S FSW signal and spectrum analyzer to verify base station signals and 5G power amplifiers. As the first user to use the software, R&S can now provide firmware options to support the launch of 5G products before the official release.
This is the first firmware option specifically for the 5G new air interface on the R&S FSW Signal and Spectrum Analyzer. It supports different subcarrier spacing and subcarrier bandwidth, sub-6GHz band and millimeter wave band.
R&D personnel can now validate 5G base stations based on 3GPP standards, and signal analysis that is common on the market does not. This dedicated solution provides a powerful user interface and accelerates 5G testing. The new 5G firmware option supports all bandwidths, and even signals with different subcarrier spacing can be easily demodulated.
The 5G new air interface option further established R&S's leading position in wireless communications, demonstrating the company's ability to support 5G test and measurement. In June 2017, the company introduced a new R&S FSW-B2001 option at R&S FSW to extend the high-end signal and R&S FSW spectrum analyzer to 2 GHz bandwidth. This solution allows developers to directly view wideband signals without the need for external data acquisition instruments. The R&S SMW200A vector signal source and the R&S FSW signal and spectrum analyzer show superior test and measurement capabilities in the Verizon 5G open test standard.
