California driver distracted driving accidental apple: This pot we do not back

Julio Ceja, a Californian resident, filed a class-action lawsuit against Apple in January because he was rear-ended by a driver who used iPhones to send and receive messages. He asked the court to stop selling iPhones in California until Apple deployed a “lock-in”. Features prevent drivers from using their mobile phones while driving. Apple recently stated in the Los Angeles Superior Court that if the driver chooses to use the iPhone while driving, this is the fault of the driver himself. Apple is only an equipment manufacturer and should not be subject to this accusation.

Also recently, the Texas District Court dismissed a distracted driving lawsuit that was also related to Apple. A woman named Meador accused Apple of failing to implement the ability to automatically disable the iPhone while the user was driving and used improper marketing methods.

However, Judge Robert W. Schroeder III stated that the plaintiff’s injury was due to his failure to drive the vehicle safely and had little to do with Apple.

In iOS 11 which will be released in the fall, Apple will launch an anti-interruption driving function. When this function is enabled, the mobile phone will not push any notifications and calls, and will initiate an auto-response function to inform others that the user is driving.
