Snap Applied for AR Augmented Reality Database Technology Patent

According to a filing filed by the US Patent and Trademark Office on Thursday, Snap applied for a technology patent for building and managing augmented reality databases. The patent was originally applied for in 2015 when Snap was still called Snapchat. According to patent documents, the company designed a method for creating an immersive AR experience that can be implemented with a small amount of processing power and data. The general AR uses powerful smartphone hardware and tracking solutions to determine the user's real-time location and render AR elements on the screen of the mobile phone. The patent of Snap describes a powerful image database. The system can pre-place multiple virtual objects. At the same time, the user's location is calculated in an efficient manner.

After the object is created, the image database will serve as the basis for any AR solution. At this point, it is only necessary to determine where the user is viewing, and the system can provide an immersive experience with a small amount of processing power. After identifying the approximate location of the user based on GPS information, the system will begin to refer to the device camera's image and “structural facade data” (this database records the images and images of the same location, which can help identify the exact location and render on the screen AR element). In theory, this not only enables a more seamless augmented reality platform, but also requires less processing power.

The Snap patent does not describe how the system will handle different lighting conditions, nor does it mention artificial intelligence, but they mention the potential of this patented technology in the recently launched Spectacles. The Los Angeles-based company has been using augmented reality as the primary means of competing with Facebook and has launched a series of different augmented reality filters. However, Facebook and Facebook's Instagram quickly followed and introduced similar features. So this social media giant is still seeking to innovate in this area and ensure its competitiveness in the market.

Airline Headphones

Aviation headphones are used in airplanes, cars, subways, etc., to facilitate passengers to listen to audio and watch videos to enjoy a pleasant journey.

The aviation earphones are mostly disposable, so the structure is extremely simple, the shape is relatively ordinary, the materials are small, and the annual usage is very large. The number of inquiry can reach several million or even tens of millions, so the cost is very cheap. earphones can cost as little as 10-15 cents. Therefore, they are disposed of as garbage after used, and passengers could take it away for personal use.

Styles can be divided into on ear headphones and in ear earphones.

Functional difference: power, impedance, and sensitivity etc. are also different. Airplane Headphone is mainly customized according to the equipment, place and user used. For example, 1 customer might require 300 ohms impedances , and other customers may need 32 ohms. For adults, the sensitivity may reach 100DB or more.To children, the sensitivity may be around 85-90 DB.

In addition, aviation headphones are not all disposable ones. Some first-class cabins need to be equipped with headphones with good noise reduction, sound quality and functions. So the price will be much more expensive.
