EU introduces new rules for vacuum cleaners

A few days ago, the EU WTO Secretariat had twice briefed on the implementation of the vacuum cleaner's ecological design requirements and energy labeling requirements. The above two new directives will be formally announced in the second half of 2013 and, once in force, will have a great impact on China's export of EU vacuum cleaners. Here, the inspection and quarantine department reminds related product manufacturers that the technical threshold for exporting vacuum cleaners in the EU has been raised, requiring exporting companies to select higher-ranking components and materials, and that each vacuum cleaner should provide energy labels and product cards one year after the regulations take effect. Technical documents, as well as information requirements that include energy efficiency ratings, will greatly increase business costs. In order to effectively respond to the new European Union Directive and reduce the impact of the new directive as much as possible, it is recommended that companies actively and actively strengthen contact with the inspection and quarantine authorities, conduct timely research and analysis on the content of the EU notification, and provide test methods and vacuum cleaners for dust release.
