In order to promote and implement the nine semiconductor lighting industry standards that have been approved for publication, the China Electronics Technology Standardization Institute and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology Semiconductor Lighting Technology Standards Working Group will be held in Jiangmen City, Guangdong Province on January 24-25, 2010. National semiconductor lighting electronics industry standards release and publicity conference. The conference was strongly supported by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Guangdong Provincial Economic and Information Commission, the Jiangmen Municipal People's Government, and domestic, middle and lower reaches. The standards released at the conference include "Detailed Specifications for Power LEDs for Semiconductor Optoelectronic Devices", "Test Methods for Semiconductor Light-Emitting Diodes", "Sapphire Substrate for Gallium Nitride Based Light Emitting Diodes", "Phosphors for Semiconductor Light-Emitting Diodes", "Technical Specifications for Power Semiconductor Light-Emitting Diode Chips", "Test Methods for Semiconductor Light-Emitting Diode Chips", "Detailed Specifications for Small Power LEDs for Semiconductor Optoelectronic Devices", "Semiconductor LED Product Series" and "Semiconductor Lighting Terminology", 9 Covers LED materials, chips, devices and related inspection and testing methods.
The conference will invite the drafting experts of the Semiconductor Lighting Technology Standards Working Group of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology to explain the nine electronic industry standards in detail. The main lecturers include Hu Aihua, Deputy Secretary General of China Optoelectronics Association, Professor Zhang Wansheng, 13th CLP, and Zhejiang University. Mr. Qi Tongsheng, Chairman of Sancolor, Li Mingyuan, General Manager of Shenzhen Haohao, and Zhuang Weidong, Director of Rare Earth R&D, will explain the technical content of the standard, the problems that should be paid attention to when the test method is operated, and the examples of product specification standards.
The conference was chosen to be held in Jiangmen City, Guangdong Province, which is known as the “first overseas Chinese hometown†in China. It has special significance. Jiangmen City is one of the few prefecture-level cities in China that attaches great importance to and vigorously develops the semiconductor lighting industry. At present, there are more than 100 LED production or affiliated enterprises in the city, and hundreds of other companies are stepping up planning approval. It is expected to be introduced soon. In order to further promote the development of the industry, the Jiangmen Municipal Government has successively formulated the “Interim Preferential Measures for the Development of LED Industry in Promoting High-tech Industrial Development Zones in Jiangmen Cityâ€, “Investment Plan for LED Industry in High-tech Zones†and “Interim Measures for the Management of Development Funds in High-tech Zonesâ€.
