CEVA, Signal Processing IP Licensing Vendor for Global Intelligence and Interconnected Devices (NASDAQ: CEVA) announces collaboration with ArcSoft, the world's leading provider of image intelligence technology, to deliver CEVA-based images And a series of image enhancement technologies for visual DSP's ArcSoft. VIVO, the leading smartphone manufacturer, has adopted the results of this collaboration in its design and is about to be introduced to the market.
Smartphone manufacturers are continually pursuing further enhancements to the camera's image and video quality and improving the overall performance of image processing. The CEVA Image and Vision DSP-XM series, including the CEVA-XM4 and CEVA-XM6, are designed to handle complex image and visual algorithms and offer significant performance and power advantages over general purpose DSPs, GPUs or CPUs. ArcSoft's series of image enhancement technologies include low-light shooting, anti-shake and noise reduction. The same algorithm runs on the XM series DSP and has obvious performance advantages over the smartphone CPU.
