A solution for university cloud laboratories - EXOTIC cloud experiment system

On November 16, 2018, Shanghai Xingdeng Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. released a solution for university cloud laboratories-EXOTIC cloud experiment system. The system is a fully programmable, intelligent remote experiment system based on the open source community; it is also the product of a very good technical interaction and organic integration between the SWORD community and the ONetSwitch community; it is currently the first domestically combined FPGA programming, Comprehensive cloud experimentation solution for SDN and AI.

The EXOTIC cloud experiment system solution integrates SWORD4.0, ONetSwitch, Sr.NIC, Raspberry Pi and Intel's AI modules, and is equipped with a cloud laboratory management software system jointly developed by Shanghai Starlight and Zhejiang University. The program includes all programmable elements of hardware programmable, software programmable and network programmable, supports the complete computer course system of the SWORD community, and fully embodies Shanghai Starlight's concept of embracing open source and AI.

With this solution, multiple users can share experimental hardware, remotely download and configure FPGA, interact with the SWORD platform through virtual IO of the web interface, observe experimental results after programming through online real-time video, and discuss and exchange with user groups; Problems and deficiencies such as insufficient laboratory hardware, difficult management and maintenance, low hardware utilization, and large cabinets occupy space, improve the utilization rate of experimental equipment and experimental efficiency, improve students' experimental experience, save teachers' management energy, activate It improves students' experimental interest and experimental atmosphere, and promotes the exchange of experimental teaching results. It is very suitable for electronic information experimental teaching centers in various colleges and universities.

The system has been deployed on a small scale in Zhejiang University and has been trialled in several institutions.
