WAGO launches new EPSITRON series single-channel electronic circuit breaker (ECB)

WAGO's new EPSITRON series of single-channel electronic circuit breakers (ECBs) are only 6 mm wide and can't find a thinner device on the market today, providing reliable overcurrent and short circuit protection for electrical equipment.

Suitable for 24 VDC, this electronic circuit breaker is available in five current ratings, 1/2/4/6 and 8 A, for a wide range of applications.

When the miniature electronic circuit breaker and the blown fuse cannot be triggered due to the long length of the wire or the small cross-sectional area of the cable, the new EPSITRON electronic circuit breaker becomes the ideal choice for the secondary side fuse.

Even in the case of lower overcurrent conditions, the secondary side fuse protection is triggered, so that a cost-effective basic network device can be used, and in the event of a hard short circuit, the fuse protection can be triggered only after 4 ms.

This performance ensures that the system will start up smoothly even under high load conditions. WAGO's electronic circuit breakers are capable of starting 50,000 microfarads or even higher capacity without additional measures. There is also no need to change the nominal current to help reduce false trips due to inrush currents.

The electronic circuit breaker with digital inputs can be used as an electronic relay, so reset and on/off switching can be done directly on the module or remotely controlled via digital input signals. In the field of mechanical engineering and system applications, electronic circuit breakers are widely used to reliably cut off faulty ground connections in control circuits within a specified time (refer to EN 60204). Electronic circuit breakers often exceed fuse fuses due to their high accuracy, making them the primary choice for equipment protection. Moreover, the electronic circuit breaker can be reliably and flexibly applied to an ambient temperature of -25 ° C to +70 ° C, and even excellent under extreme conditions.

WAGO's new ECB is a modular unit that allows direct connection of input voltages with simple wiring while ensuring easy connection of input voltages to JUMPFLEX 857 and 2857 series units. The signal inputs and outputs can also be combined into a sum signal using a jumper.

In addition, because the new module is only 6 mm wide and 66% smaller than the miniature electronic circuit breaker, it saves more space, especially in the power distribution cabinet.
